Baby Stainton
ok so all of you we told we were never having kids... surprise! Yes, Michelle and I are expecting in early Feb. For those of you that have been asking us to register, and anyone else that's interested, we registered with Babies R Us. Please click the link below.

The Ultrasound Adventure: September 06 Ok, so we found out we were expecting, so what do you do? You go to Indigo and buy as many books on having a baby you can find. You read up on all the things you should do, all the things you shouldn't (oops) and all the things that can go wrong. You have then armed yourself with enough worries to cause an ulcer and you've got nothing but time to think yourself into a panic. Then you go to the Ultrasound appointment, watch all this weird black and gray matter on a screen while they draw lines and circles and connecting dots. The silence is thick as they've asked you to hold your questions to the end, and then they say "do you want to know the sex?"... well yeah...duh. It's a boy, here is why. ok, so I saw some more black and grey but you do this for a living so I'll take your word for it. Yes, we are apparently having a boy. black and grey pictures attached.

The Belly: January 07 Here we go... it's approaching D Day - the nursery is somewhat finished, the house is still under renovations and the belly is big. 37 1/2 weeks big. Doesn't she look beautiful. click here for pictures.

The Big Day!: February 10, 2007 - 10:05am  Finlay Douglas Herbert Stainton (Fynn) was born. Michelle and baby are doing well and everyone is home now. My days are now broken down into 3 hour intervals, in which each interval is assessed for the number of naps, craps and feedings that took place. I'm trying to recal what REM sleep felt like, but I understand this is only a temporary schedule and that we'll get less sleep in the future :) We think Fynn is pretty handsome, but we're also a little bias, you decide. click here for pictures.

Life with Fynn: April 2007  Finlay has been keeping us quite busy as you can imagine. Everyone is doing fine although sleep can be a luxury some times. Fynn is a very good baby - he's patient and happy (most of the time) and the other times he looks like an angry raisin. He's been to some of the finest restaurants in Vancouver, he's been for his first swim and he's talking up a storm, we just can't figure out which language he's speaking. click here for pictures.

The First Trip to Ontario: May 2007  So, it was fishing trip/parent's anniversary/time to get a dose of Ontario weather after all this rain time for Jason and so Michelle and Fynn decided to come back to Ontario with me so we could do a Southern Ontario Baby Tour. click here for pictures.

"Summer" in Vancouver: 2007   The one week of summer we've had so far in BC has been enjoyable. We've been swimming and enjoying the backyard. I sure hope we get another week of it before the fall :) click here for pictures.

The San Fran Road Trip: July 2007   It was time to see how the kid likes road trips (since we do so many of them) so we packed up the car and left for a week to San Fran & Sonoma. San Fran is nice, but Sonoma was the highlight of the trip for us. Fynn even got his first chance to stay in a flea bag motel on the way home when we blew past our planned stay over and could find a hotel when it was time to finally stop. He didn't mind so much - his mom did a little more :) click here for pictures.

FALL 07   So it's been a year here in BC - it just seems like yesterday that Michelle was 8 mo's pregnant and we were waste deep in renovations in the new house while I was taking on a new job. good times. We had a recent trip back in Ontario where we visited family and then flew back for Haloween. Fynn's 6th time on a plane and first time in a bear costume :) click here for pictures.
